About a month ago, I was talking to my friend and she mentioned that she had planted sunflowers in a flowerbed, and they should be have flowers in a few weeks. The other day she contacted me to let me know that they were blooming, and they were big and colorful. As I photographed them, the bees were busy going from one flower to the other, heavy ladened with pollen. I was able to catch one of them as he headed for this pretty flower.

The gators are about finished bellowing for the season. I spent a lot of hours, waiting, watching, hoping that if and when he bellowed, he would be close enough, and the light would be right! That is a lot to ask, but I think I was blessed with it all coming together. Please share this if you like it.

Springtime is almost here! The turkeys are starting to strut and show their stuff. This one was starting to feel that way yesterday morning as the sun was coming up.

I got this image of a Black Crowned Night Heron in the early morning light. When I first saw it, he flew and I thought the photo op. was over. It only flew a few feet and landed on this perch where the lighting was better and the background much better! Please like it and pass it share it 😊

The first Painted Buntings of the season have arrived! They are a little early this year, they usually show up in November and stay up into April. The male's bright red, green, blue, and yellow make them one of the most brightly colored birds of all, and a pleasure to see. Eastern Painted Buntings winter in the Gulf states, the Bahamas,Cuba, Mexico, and Panama; realize that these little birds fly across the open Gulf waters to get to Cuba and The Bahama Islands, a remarkable feat for such a small bird. hope to share more Bunting photos this winter :)
